Six miles south of Scotland’s ‘Auld Grey Toon’ of St.Andrews, lies a course that belies its tender years. Opened in July 2000, Kingsbarns is a tribute to classic links golf; it is an understanding and an embracing of the notion that golf is an emotional game; it champions the belief that golf is as much about the thoughts and experiences between shots as it is about the shots themselves.
Providing stellar sea vistas as far away as Carnoustie, the challenging holes at Kingsbarns amble and weave through dune ridges and hollows cut along nearly 2 miles of shoreline.
The twists and turns of the holes offer enticing gambles and occasional mysteries but the experience is not complete without enjoying the comforts of ‘Golf Monthly’s Clubhouse of the Year 2007’ Both attractive, well appointed and homely, it has welcoming staff who know exactly how to cater for thirsty golfers.
Ranked regularly in most Top 100 lists and open for play from April through to the end of November, a visit to Kingsbarns Golf Links is highly recommended.
